SID: Hello Sid Roth here. Welcome to my world where it’s naturally supernatural. My guest Larry Randolph just provokes me to jealousy; he comes from three generations of prophets, people that knew things. As a matter of fact get this, Larry saw a newspaper headlines for the next seven years, can you imagine having that kind of information? I mean he saw it now, for what’s going to be happening in the future. Larry, you really provoke me to jealousy, but let’s go back to your grandfather, what was he like?
LARRY: Well actually, it even goes beyond that. I have a great, great uncle Newton who was a blind healer and he did miracles, blind eyes, blind people were healed, and then of course my grandfather also had a very strong prophetic gifting and ministry gift and pastoral gift, as well as my father. He had an extraordinary word of knowledge and a passion for Jesus and a healing gift that was unusual.
SID: Just out of curiosity, as a young person, I saw pictures of you preaching at a young, how old were you?
LARRY: Yes, six years old.
SID: Six years old, they start early in the family. What kind of memory do you have of your father’s word of knowledge being activated?
LARRY: Yes, I my memory goes all the way back as far as I remember, my first memories of life was under a church pew, and hearing my father preach. But my father did have an extraordinary prophetic gift, he knew things, and one thing he would know for instance, was whenever people came to the church for the first time on occasion he would know their names, he would know their situations.
SID: Would he know their full name?
LARRY: No, usually just their first name sometimes.
SID: That’s pretty good.
LARRY: That’s pretty good, and he would tell me about it. Next Sunday Barbara’s coming, she has a problem, we need to pray for her, she is going, wants to take her life. And the next Sunday there would be a lady, a new lady and what’s your name, Barbara, you know what is your problem, that would be her problem. So I grew up in that environment and I thought it was normal, I thought everybody did that.
SID: You know what, if everyone grew up in that environment it would be normal, everyone would be doing that, but you also had a mentor that sounds fascinating to me, I wish I had known him, tell me about him.
LARRY: His name was Robert Mitchell. Robert was an extraordinary dear man, I miss him today. He was born in the 1890’s, he had been involved with Smith Wigglesworth, and all through the reformation of the Pentecostal movement in the 20’s and Azusa and on up through A.A. Allen, Branham, other names that a lot of your guests may not know about, but it was important to him.
And met the Lord, in his later years of life became a missionary, went completely blind when he as in his 50’s for five years totally blind, but in the process of blindness his wife read the Bible to him every day for five years and he memorized every word in the Bible. And in addition to just being a walking Bible, he had also had a gift of healing and a prophetic gift that was incredible, he too would know when people were coming to his house, sometimes he would know who they were, and then he would tell them and there would be a tremendous healing.
SID: So Larry, as a normal person being raised with a heritage like that, do you know people’s names sometimes?
LARRY: Sometimes.
SID: Tell me one meeting.
LARRY: Well recently I was in Minneapolis doing a conference and a person I guess spoke and I had a dream about a man named John that I gave a prophetic word to, I prophesied over about his destiny, I saw him in the dream, so the next night when I spoke, there was probably 1200 people in the meeting so it was hard to find him, to see his face, but I walked through the middle of the auditorium in my ministry time, and I saw him on my left, the same man that was in the dream, and I stood him up and talked to him about his destiny, he was very surprised and also the Lord had told me, I believe, his grandfathers name as well, and I talked to him I believe his grandfather was William, if I’m getting it right, and he was absolutely ministered to in an incredible way, that God would speak to him and know him by name and know who he is and what he was, so that’s one of numerous examples that happens in meetings.
SID: The thing that I really appreciate about Larry is it’s contagious, just as he hung around these family members and it was normal for him, well he has written a book, and as a matter of fact,
I learned something so fantastic from his book. Larry, you have a chapter there called “Broken Receivers”, explain that.
LARRY: Yes, in a nutshell a broken receiver is actually, as I said, began in the Garden of Eden. It was in the Garden of Eden that the Creator, God created Adam and Eve, and it was just incredible communication. the scripture said that He walked and talked with Adam and Eve, and because of the fall of Adam and Eve there was this disconnect, Adam and Eve were disenfranchised from the voice of the Lord, and so they lost that sweet communion, that talk, that fellowship with God in the Garden you know for centuries and centuries and centuries, which of course is being reestablished through Jesus and he is the connector to that broken receiver, that why he’s called the word of God.
SID: Is there another way to connect with the same intimacy that Adam and Eve had in the Garden of Eden we read about besides Jesus?
LARRY: There is no other way to regain, he is the only way, he is the voice, he is the express image of the Father is what the Bible says, and he is the door, he himself said I am the door.
Said: Okay, when things are connected, this is the thing that is so fascinating about your book. I think in terms, I’m connected, I know Jesus, when you’re connected though, we expect God to speak like the movie about Moses, Charlton Heston in a booming voice, “This is God speaking to you.” Then I say, yes sir. But – and he does that sometimes, but he speaks in so many different ways that you have been able to identify. Tell me one.
LARRY: I’ll give you one, most people have this one and they don’t know it is God talking to them. Impressions, and what I mean by impressions, there is a feeling, an intuition, a perceptiveness, a gut feeling, I know you’ve had it where you go, there is that faint feeling that you know something, you feel something, but you aren’t sure, and you go, oh that was just me, and a week later you find out that was absolutely correct, that was true. And God speaks to us through our spirit, and through our soul and slight impressions, and nudges us.
SID: Why is it that we don’t watch out when we have those slight impressions?
LARRY: Because we don’t trust and believe that is God talking to us .
SID: Okay, from now on we are going to trust and believe that it is God speaking to us, don’t go away, because we are going to find out about a visitation that he had with Jesus, don’t go away.
