Sid: My guests by way of telephone from their in Foley, Alabama the heads of Global Childrens Movement, Jennifer and Jonatan Toledo. On yesterday’s broadcast we found when Jonatan was just 15 years of age he was on a mission’s trip to El Salvador, and he was in the ocean he was pulled out, he was about ready to die. It was one of these experiences where his whole life flashed before him. His biggest regret was that he had not lived his life to the fullest for God. He had lived for other things, was a good person, he loved the Lord, he loved his parents, but he saw how much he had missed and he totally surrendered. His father was there but he didn’t have the strength to swim to his father the current was too strong. As he looked into his father’s eyes, God gave him supernatural strength, not natural strength, supernatural strength. He realized later that it was like looking into His heavenly Father’s eyes. He survived, but he understood what it was to totally surrender. Then when you were empty, God started pouring in His compassion. Jonatan tell me about that.
Jonatan: Yes, you know that place where you die to yourself and you become aware with the desires that God has on His heart. You should see the compassion that He has for people, and the compassion that He has for the lost, for the poor, for the whole world. His desire to reveal His love to them through many ways. I came to find that the more you come in to knowing His compassion, and the more you get filled with His compassion, you start seeing miracles happen.
Sid: For instance, tell me about the little 5 year old girl that was mentally retarded.
Jonatan: Yes this 5 year old she was a beautiful little. We were in Oklahoma and her father was not even a believer, but they heard we were going to be praying for healing. So he brought this little girl, she looked completely normal she was a beautiful girl, but she had some problems with coordination and when I started praying for her the Father put her onto my lap. She just stared at me she didn’t know what I was going to do. As I stare at her I started praying for her and I started feeling this strong feeling like “Father how can You resist this little girl? I know as a Father You see, and this is Your little girl and how can You resist when You have all the power to heal it? How can You resist her?” As I was just filled with this thing I felt as my Spirit went higher, and when that happened I realized that what the Father was saying was “I can’t resist this little girl, I can’t resist her. Will you pray for her?” He was just waiting for someone to come and pray for her because His desire was to heal her. What I saw when I was in that place I saw 2 screens in front of them. One of them I saw how her life will be, at the same time I could see on one side how her life will be if she was completely healed. On the other side, I saw if she was mentally retarded, and so it was so different to see the desires that the Father has for her, and all the things that she was able to do. In the screen where she was sick, she couldn’t connect into friendships and her life…
Sid: Where she was retarded.
Jonatan: Yeah she was retarded. So she couldn’t… there was like all these things that I didn’t never think about that she couldn’t enter in that she couldn’t enjoy. I saw on the other side just all the desires that the Father had for her. So we finished praying at that moment, and nothing… I couldn’t see any difference in the little girl we couldn’t tell if something happened or not. About 3 months later we find out that this little girl was completely restored, that she was completely healed. Even the parents took her from this special school where she was and put her in a normal school. She was already picking up with all the other kids, and they told us she was still having some problems with coordination, but later on we find out that, you know, she was completely restored.
Sid: You know one of the things that impressed me was when you were crying out to Father God “God how can You resist her, how can You resist her?” What was going on within you when you cried that out?
Jonatan: I felt like I was like tapping into a compassion, at that point I wasn’t even married so I didn’t have a child, or anything. After feeling, I was feeling the heart of a father, you know in just saying… a father if they’re able to do something for their children I mean they will do anything for them. Like if they have the power to they will do anything for their safety. So I was just… I just started feeling the emotions that the heavenly Father had for her, and sometimes I feel like there’s like we can go and enter into different levels of His heart. When I felt like my spirit went higher I realized that these feelings actually were because the Father was saying that couldn’t resist it.
Sid: Tell me about the person with Downs-Syndrome, the little girl.
Jonatan: There was this little girl about 8 years old, and we were in Puerto Rico with my friend Shawn. After the meeting we were very tired, and you know we were done for the day. This mother came with her daughter and so she was Downs-Syndrome. We started praying for her, and to tell you the truth I was almost thinking “I don’t even know if I have the faith to see this girl healed.” I knew that the Father loved that girl and I knew that His desire was to heal her. So we pray for her and we came back to the states, and some months later we got on the mail a picture of this little girl. We didn’t even recognize her in the beginning because her whole face, the features of her face were completely transformed.
Sid: I know what a child looks like with Downs-Syndrome. You’re telling me that God not only healed her on the inside, but healed her on the outside?
Jonatan: That’s right her whole face was completely normal, she looked like a normal little girl.
Sid: You know I’d like you to put Jennifer on very quickly. We’re going back to Jonatan’s wife Jennifer Toledo. Jennifer is it true that when you equip children for ministry sometimes they clear out entire hospital wards by praying for the sick?
Jennifer: Yes we’ve seen that actually a couple of times.
Sid: How about the multiplying of clothing, or food?
Jennifer: Yeah on our last trip actually we went into Rwanda and Kenya, and we took 8 suit cases of clothing to orphans. Eight suitcases you know that’s not a whole lot, but we ended up being able to clothe hundreds and hunreds, and hundreds of kids, and the clothing never ran out. I’m telling you each kid walked away with a bag full of multiple outfits, shoes, and it just kept reproducing. In fact, we had so much by the end we were going to the hospitals, going to different orphanages, giving bags and bags of clothing away, and we could not get rid of it. We ended up coming home…
Sid: Now wait a second, are you sure someone didn’t just keep putting extra suitcases in from someone else’s supply?
Jennifer: Impossible. We only took and we had them with us the whole time. Eight suitcases of children’s clothing … I’m telling you it was amazing it was such a beautiful picture because those clothe we had gotten were donated here in the states. We had very nice clothing, I mean like name brand clothing for children, brand new clothes. We took them, and I’m telling you God supernaturally multiplied them. It was unbelievable literally unbelievable, I mean some kids… I think of this one little girl, a little baby, had been found in a trash can living in an orphanage who’s 3 months old. She got 20, 20 brand new dresses. There was more, but I thought she’ll never, you know, she can’t wear all these. I mean we had so much it just kept reproducing.
Sid: Now I know what this did for the children, but what did this do for you and your husband?
Jennifer: Oh my goodness, it just gets us so excited. I mean… you know honestly sometimes we feel like we’re just way out there on a limb. We think when you see the poverty, sometimes it feels so overwhelming. When you step back and see God step in, we’re continually reminded, you know what, this is His job. He loves these kids more than we do, He is the God of the poor, of the orphan, He is a Father to the fatherless, He will provide for them, He just wants to partner with us to do it. So we get so encouraged that you know as long as we bring our little, I tell people just bring your little sack lunch. What’s in your sack lunch? I think of the little boy who just brought his fish and his bread to Jesus, and Jesus multiplied it. Whatever we have if we just bring it to Him, and willing, He’ll multiply it.
