Sid: Now have you felt that you’re almost in a twilight zone your kind of dissatisfied with what is and you know there’s something coming you don’t know what it is but your hungering for this next move of God’s Spirit. And you’ve just been kind of passive over this well I believe that the Spirit of the Living God has had you tune in this week because this is a week where Friday and Saturday is Shavuot Pentecost the outpouring of God’s Spirit and God wants a release of His Spirit beyond anything that you have ever had before and He has a biblical way to do it. I have on the telephone Dave Roberson he’s the Senior Pastor of the Family Prayer Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. And a number of years ago when he was 30 years of age he had a vision that there was more and he literally took a job for God and his job was like most people would go to a factory with their lunch and they’d take their lunch hour excreta and that’s what he did. He put in 8 hours of praying in tongues a day for 3 months and he had such a life changing experience. Just too kind of whet the appetite of our listeners Dave you told me that recently you went to India tell me what happened.
Dave: Yes when I went over to India it was to do a crusade with a friend of mine who is an evangelist there. And his name is Brother Denacrene and so we had a half a million people at the crusade and when I got off the plane the first thing they did is they took me to speak to a 1000 preachers that was there. When I got through speaking on “How to Walk into God’s Power” deliberately on purpose just b3ecause you want to.” They got so excited that one of them come running to the front and through a boy up on the platform that was about 11 years old he was born blind. So I put my hands over his eyes and prayed and when I took them off he was looking back at me. God opened his eyes right there and they got so excited that a devil manifested in the crowd. And when I say that there was somebody there who didn’t know Him who didn’t know Jesus and they were was standing there a demon threw them down on the floor. And I jumped down in the crowd and run out and cast that devil out. They closed in around me and I couldn’t get out of the crowd and it was really something what happened that day.
And those preachers took that teaching and began to take there first step into His power then. But that night that night when I went out to do the crusade with my friend and this is the night in particular that I remember the most and I went out to minister and they introduced me and 13 seconds, 13 minutes they said it was I laid the love of Jesus out how He had suffered and died for them and the price that He had paid. And I can remember lasting 13 minutes and then the glory fell. Oh did it fall and He told me “I’m doing creative miracles, He said “I’m doing creative miracles so pray for their teeth.” And just in a mass prayer when that glory fell and I prayed for their teeth and when that was through another wave come through and the blind and lame and I can’t tell you how many blind and lame walked that night. But 5000 people approximate raised their hand that had had rotten cavities 5000 that received gold and silver fillings. And some of them had enamel restoration. And one thing that was so amazing to me was there was some twins that had the same rotten teeth and when they came up on the platform to testify God had filled exactly the same rotten teeth in the twins.
Sid: Huh.
Dave: Great big gold overlay fillings, not to count the blind and the lame that walked.
Sid: Well did, were…what I want to hear is how many people were saved?
Dave: That’s just where I was going. When all of that glory was loose and the people see and walking and all of those testifying of their teeth then I said “How many wants to be saved how many?” And 200,000 200,000 mostly Hindu’s all raised their hand to give their life to Jesus that night 200,000 in one night.
Sid: Would that night have ever taken under your ministry if you did not pray in tongues often?
Dave: I don’t believe so Sid because this one thing I found out about praying in tongues and just this He cleared up for me this last few years. I can’t begin to tell you how blessed I am now in the realms of peace but He gave me the bottom line the bottom line of praying in tongues. He said “Son don’t you understand yet? He said to me one day “Son it’s a revelation gift, it’s a revelation gift.” That’s why when you begin to edify yourself it was the 8 operation all of the other 7 Apostle, Prophet, Teacher, Pastor, Evangelist, Government, and the Divers Tongues. The other 7 rested on the foundation of that gift and it’s the one we begin to speak in the moment your born again if you have the knowledge and it’s taught and you receive. But the moment you’re born again it’s the first operation that you can operate in. And after these years He said to me “Son don’t you understand what I gave you it’s a revelation gift it builds you up not only in the understanding of the mysteries of the word but the mysteries of the operations of the Holy Spirit.” The mystery of the understanding of the separation to the offices whether they be Apostle, prophet, teacher, evangelist the understanding of the operation of the gifts. Praying in tongues is a revelation gift and like any other form of prayer it’s designed by God to be answered. Only when it’s answered it comes back in the form of the understandings of the mystery of everything that Christ is in you to you and through you the hope of glory in your call in God’s plan for you and then the understanding of the operations of the Spirit.
Sid: Well what exactly in your opinion when the average person starts praying in tongues…
Dave: Yes.
Sid: What’s going on in your opinion?
Dave: What’s going on is God the Holy Spirit who has been sent for them and to them begins to pray for them in this supernatural language. He can see and knows the plan of God for their life so He begins to pray for them in a realm that they don’t know yet, that they can’t understand yet and He begins to lay God’s plan out for them and begins of build them up in the understanding of the word to change them and to receive everything that God has for them in His plan. That’s called edification.
Sid: Why if that’s what occurs why is it that so many of our listeners were Baptized in the Holy Spirit some a year ago some 10 years some 20 some 30 years ago and pray in tongues every once in awhile but not anywhere close to the way that Paul prayed in tongues. He said “I pray without ceasing.” How come?
Dave: In discovering Sid that it was a revelation gift the devil is a master strategist see he’s an absolute military genius. And he talked about the plots, ploys and schemes of diabol diabol means penetration. See he’s a military genius and any military genius knows that the best way to win a war is to cut off you have got to cut off the supply line. So he knew the devil knew it through deception because he’s as wise as a serpent yet be harmless as a dove. And he knew that through deception he could cut the supply line off. If he could cut the revelation gift off of edification then he could keep us from receiving all that God has for us. So he’s came in systematically and methodically like a military genius and just attempted to take the understanding of it away from the church so he could cut the supply line off.
Sid: Why is it that at least half of the Christians in America say “God is finished with that particular gift that it died out with the Apostles?”
Dave: Once again when the church went into the dark ages Satan did the same thing he systematically methodically went in and tried to destroy that foundation. Because what could be more prevalent for a person than to have God the Holy Spirit perform one of the most perfect prayers there is that holds the sentences and the revelations and the mysteries of Christ in it then pass that language over to your spirit. For when I pray in unknown tongues my spirit prays and then have you pray it up before the Father in answered prayer. I mean He creates the prayer you pray it before the Father and the Father answers it. So he knew that if he could take it away from the early church what and he did and take it away from this church. That one of the best ways to discredit it was just to slip a doctrine in that it has passed away with the apostles that there’s no more use for it. But the problem is you can’t find that anywhere in the word.
Sid: Well some say where it says “Tongues will pass away” in Corinthians.
Dave: Yes but that’s not what that’s saying see what it’s saying there is the only thing that we have in this life that’s going to pass from this realm and into the next realm is love.
